Hi.

Im here in PMB and would like some advise on the best or recomended place to study my A+ N+ and MCSE, part time. IT Interlect looks prety good so far...

Thanks

A+ is mostly hardware (not very usefull unless your going to be strictly a computer techy, where u build up pc's whole day long, and do troubleshooting)

N+ is quite usefull (u can use this at any firm who has a network that has plenty of security and backing up of files and also network trouble shooting. etc.etc)

MCSE is usefull (MCSE covers a little of A+ and also N+ , and also mostly Windows 2003 and WIndows 2003 Server edition)

Depends on what area you want to specialize in. MCSE for overall IT dude. A+ for Hardware dude, and N+ for Network Dude :>>>

Thanks Napalm,

Im fairly experenced with pc's, im sure i will fly through the A+ and N+, but i have a friend who wants to study with me, and he is a newbie, so he would not handle MCSE as a first line of study. So i figure i might as well get qualified in the basics before moving onto the MCSE. A company as offered me a job when i complete the A+ or N+, so wont go to waste, then hopefully they will be able to come to the party with the bill for the MCSE...

But i digress, and recomendations on WHERE to study in PMB?

Well most IT Company's look for A+ or N+ (not really MCSE as much)

Cause most of these company's have plenty of Networking and also some computer techy's.

So they will propably give you the job on A+ or N+ alone.

MCSE is a good certificate to have, but its more a overall certificate. Not really a specialized certificate. Meaning they will see you have this, and see this candidate knows computers in Overall capacity. Where'as a N+ Certificate says. This dude knows his networks :>

But yeah, to each his own. Depends on your taste really

Napalm, are A+ and N+ both 1/2 year certificates/diplomas? Or what?

And what's the duration of MCSE?

IT interlect say they will do mcse in 3-4 months, part time, every night during the week. A+ and N+ combined is aobut 3-5weeks part time.

Full time they say 15 days for A+ N+ and 35 for MCSE. I must say that must be serious craming to get that much data in that time.

I assume its for the IT savy who just need to get the paper.

Dude are u sure u know what u talking about ?

A + = Hardware theory
N + = Network theory
MCSE = Network Practical ( deals with setting up servers , and configuring desktops for the corporate environment - MCSE does not deal with any hardware issues , only software configuration )

I think we have all lost the plot.

WHERE in pietermartizburg should i go to study. I know what i need to study.

Interesting line of topic anyway, its nice to get an idea of how people percive (spelling) different qualifications.

I study through this place:

www.myskills.co.za and I can highly recommend them ;) It's based on the net, however you can print all your courses and do the extra practice tests online sometime.

Prices are good, although they don't certify you, you have to write the certification test at a certified place. It's not hard to find one though, I live in Mpumalanga and there's a place an hour or so from me.

I've found, especially if you want do it according to your time, it's the best method to do it, learn when you want, write the exams when you want and when you can afford it.

;)
