Which ADSL Wifi router

Hi All
I assume this has been discussed to death, if so please point me to said thread/s.
Otherwise i need to replace my adsl wifi router, and there are too many out there for me to decide on which one i should buy i am completely confused.
I have 4mb Uncapped and use it for the usual stuff. Please can someone narrow down my search, my budget is R1k.

Get something with a Broadcom or Lantiq chipset I'd say, they are the two better ones.

TP-Link have some Broadcom and Lantiq chipset routers, the W8980 is pretty good. Runs a Lantiq chipset and if you flash it with 9980 firmware it supports VDSL. Same hardware as the 9980 actually.

The 2750U D-link, you get two versions. One with a broadcom chipset and the other uses a different chipset. Not sure which one Telkom use though. I am currently using a 2750U from Telkom and it is not bad. My SNR is a lot lower - unless it is just calculated differently compared to the Billion routers I was using previously.

Router is in bridge mode, I prefer the QoS features which the Billion routers had though. Being able to limit specific IP's to a % of the WAN speed etc. Was useful!

Just get the Telkom d-link dsl2750 and be done with it,quick easy reliable no nonsense router with all the basic features you'd ever need.

Netgear is R750 ..
Which is better of 2 ? According to specs netgear has good wifi range (40m) ?

I honestly don't have much experience with netgear, I can tell you don't ever try "billion" though they are pathetic.

A friend once mentioned that netgear is quite good especially if you have a good line from telkom but if your line is crappy they maybe patchy, but honestly I wouldn't know if there's any truth in that.

I have both but prefer the dlink as it does half bridging, the netgear doesn't.

Have not heard good things about the DGN2200 wifi range.
I personally dislike Netgear.

i had many issues with the netgear dgn 2200..
dlink is more stable and reliable
