Hey guys, which phone would you recommend or is coming out soon?
Would it be the Galaxy 2 ?

I really love my BB and love the physical keyboard. I find it almost impossible to type properly on a screen, almost always hitting the wrong bloody buttons, even on my tablet. I have very large hands :D

Thanks

I would reccommend the Galaxy S2 which is out currently. If you really want to wait, the new Galaxy is being announced soon, but bare in mind that there will be at least a 1-2 month wait.

Do they really work well? Will try it on my Xoom

Hell yes, the biggest problem to overcome is the habit of tapping on the screen, but once you in the mindset of swiping its a whole different ball game, and you reach speeds that you previously thought impossible even with a physical keyboard.

As for tablet I prefer to use Thumb Keyboard because I normally end up holding the tablet with 2 hands most of the time.

Being a die hard android fan in the past I would have to say there is nothing better than a iPhone.... It just works, something android lacks

Opposite feeling from my side, but that is what makes the world go round. If we all conformed to the same norm it would have been a very dull place to live in :)

So in short your post bring nothing to the table, please try harder next time.

Once you go Swype, you won't go back ;)

Motorola RAZR.

Marine...if you want and you come past Midrand again sometime...you more than welcome to come look at mine. I might even let you hold it. :-)

If size matters, then get a galaxy note. LOL
But seriously, i tried writing a short message on a BB & it took forever. kept pressing more than 1 key at a time. With the note, its not so bad

Definitely going to be worth the wait. I have the first edition galaxy S and 18 months later I am still loving it.

If you think that, wait till you start using swype based keyboards

Swype might feel weird at first, but I find it difficult to do it any other way on the phone now.

Galaxy S2 had its flaws, but still a great phone. I love it :D And choice to customize EVERYTHING is fantastic.

Iphones nice too, but screen is too small imo, I will see what the iphone 5 looks like, I was very dissappointed playing around with the iphone 4s (unless you jailbreak), but even then I prefer android.

The galaxy nexus / galaxy note?

As MrMocs says the HTC One looks to be a fantastic phone.

At the moment there is too much speculation regarding with S3 and iphone 5 will be, so if you dont wanna wait, S2 ;)

EDIT:

Topic is android phone, so iphone not applicable :D

I would second the suggestion to try out Swype. Not everyone likes it, but if it does work for you, it's life-changingly good. I originally switched to Android from a Motorola Q9, and typing on a virtual keyboard was always something I struggled with until I switched to Swype. It took some getting used to, but now I've reached the point where I can type out messages so quickly with Swype that coming back to a physical keyboard on a phone seems absurdly slow and cumbersome by comparison. My advice is to try it out and see if it's for you.

As for which phone to choose, you really cannot go wrong with the Galaxy Nexus. I have one, and it is easily the best smartphone I have ever used. It has a beautiful UI that is not found on any other Android phone, great performance, insanely good display, classy and understated industrial design, and it gets software updates directly from Google rather than from the manufacturer or cellular network. It's not the best in every single aspect: camera isn't as amazing as the one in the iPhone 4S, and the GPU is not quite as powerful as the S2's. But it's a very well-balanced package that, in my opinion, is better than an other smartphone on the market when viewed in totality.

The only real flaw that I've found on Android so far is that it's a mission unlink your email address once you've added it. A factory reset shouldn't be the only answer if you don't mind losing things like your emails, but want to keep your apps and pictures etc. The other 'workarounds' that I've seen like adding another email address and removing the old one, aren't guaranteed to work.

would it be best to go for the galaxy s2, or the new Nexus, or wait until around october when the s3 should be launched.

any advice?

It depends how desperate you are for a new phone I guess.

My contract was up for renewal at the end of Feb but I did not see anything that garbed my attention, also don't need a new phone as my DHD + Xperia Play is perfect for what I need. Might go for a Quad as soon as they come out or the S3, will see.

Get the Note. A whole new paradigm ... in a league of its own. I cannot believe that I was happy with less for so long.
