I use avast anti-virus software, the one I have is free and i downloaded it from the net.

Which anti-virus software do you have on your home/work pc/laptop? Did you buy it or download it for free?

While I'm still at it. Sometimes my pc gets infected with Trojan horses, malware and viruses. There's an option of deleting that particular document or file that contains that malicious software, I always choose the option to "delete" that file or "abort". Is that good enough? Is there maybe a malicious virus on my pc that isn't detected by my Avast anti-virus software? I ask this because whenever I scan my pc, it's results (after scanning my whole pc) always show no viruses on my pc.

I suppose the search function also does not work on your side  :whistling: :wtf:

Some AVs specifically exclude adware. And for some things SpyBot is simply superior. Nothing wrong with his approach.

I know, I was just making a joke. Back in my Windows techie days I use to create a BartPE disk with SpyBot and some other goodies to remove viruses.

The most important thing I still tell people when recommending a AV solution, is to use tools (note the plural) that you are happy with and understand how to use them. No 1 reason why consumers complain about a AV product comes down to them not understanding the product and not knowing how to use it correctly.

eset (just called eset) is brilliant, I used to use AVG, but now I will never look back, the thing updates like 3 times a day!

What does updating 3 times a day have to do with being bad?

Microsoft Security Essentials. It is easy on the resources, updates are frequent and easy and it detects and removes just about everything. You would have to be a total moron to have problems with it.

+1

It uses far less resources and CPU time than when I had AVG installed. It's a keeper.
