I use a Mac and I have been using Firefox as my browser. Unfortunately it has been causing problems loading websites and uses an incredible amount of memory. For some reason yesterday when I switched modems the browser insisted on defaulting to the old modem's interface directories, even after deleting everything with that IP address from history.

So I tried switching to Safari and then I remembered why I moved to Firefox in the first place. The interface is not as user-friendly; I have already closed several tabs by mistake because the cross is right where I click to open the tab. I can't move to tabs by using cmd-# (the number of the tab). And most annoying it adds "www." to the beginning of any IP address I type in before I can press enter! I just want to scream.

Anyone have a better suggestion?

Firefox and chrome are the best imho,

I switch between them depending on what I am doing.

Chrome is better with memory than firefox as far as i know, it also uses a different process for every tab etc. so if one crashes the rest should be fine.

edt. Not sure what the difference are with browsers between a mac and windows pc.

Chrome.... or Opera. I have a soft spot for Opera

Same here: I have used Opera almost from their first version, and it's still my browser of choice.

I only switch to Chrome for certain sites.

Strangly never managed to get a liking for Firefox.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned IE yet  (we might need a sarcasm sign).

Safari for me thank you very much. Chrome comes in second and I see no reason to have Firefox on my machine... ever. OP, I can't imagine a simpler interface than Safari (or Chrome) and I've never seen Safari add "www" to anything I type into the address bar.
