Which console has the best rpgs?

Well, unfortunately it seems like the SNES had all of the good RPGs. I have played them all and now I am looking for the next best thing. I bought a Wii a year or two ago thinking that surely being a Nintendo it would have lots of good RPGs available. I was sadly mistaken. At the time I figured that in time they would develop loads of new RPGs for the Wii.

Going to take a look for new RPGs on the Wii soon, but I am also considering getting another console instead. I've played Oblivion, Fallout 3, and The Last Remenant on the PC, but I am trying to move my gaming to console only. Does the Xbox or the PS3 have more good RPGs on it?
 
Most of the RPGS lately are sported on both consoles, its more about personal preference, although Xbox exclusives like Fable 2 and Mass effect are brilliant (even though im a PS3 gamer i have to admit that...) PS3 got things like folklore, enchanted arms- werent very grand- more to come though- i cant wait for heavy rain and Final fantasy!!
 
There is also Valkyria Chronicles & Dragon Age. If you like hard games, get Demon Souls. Very highly rated. Also watch out for White Knght Chronicles, Star Oceans International & Final Fantasy XIII. Oh these are for the PS3.
 
hmm. best rpgs? planescape torment, baldur's gate series, and icewind dale - so i guess it is PC? :D
I am absolutely loving mass effect 1&2 for the xbox.
fable 2 was IMHO a cheesy mess of a story - avoid.
dragon age is a bit odd on the xbox. maybe it is better on pc or ps3?
oblivion and shimmering isles were awesome on pc - i cant play the way i want to on a console. i suck at running and aiming.
i dont have any rpgs for my ps3 so i cant comment there - also heard demon souls is brilliant, if you could get hold of a copy. i'm also excited about heavy rain - is it even an rpg?
 
don't forget the "lost odyssey", been busy playing it for the last 2 months on xbox, probably the best rpg on 360 i've played so far. If you like turn based rpgs give this one a go.

Read an interesting article that it is rather an "Interactive movie", obviously with varying outcomes as "rewards" or "penalties" based on your own decisions. I think a must have to experience as there is apparently none other like it eve,r they say.

+1, really good JRPG, and I'm not even much of a fan of old school RPG's
 
Fallout 3/Oblivion are very good. Both are available across all platforms.
 
Demon's Souls FTW! Then there's Dragon Age, Valkyria Chronicles, Disgaea 3, White Knight Chronicles, Eternal Sonata, and the upcoming Last Rebeliion, Lil old Zero, Resonance of Fate, WKC2, FF13, FF13-Versus etc.
 
Seems like Fable 3 wont have any RPG features, though I wouldn't have really called it an RPG in the first place.
 
Wow, thanks for all of the suggestions. Yeah, I have played most of the RPGs available for PC. My favourite EVER are the Baldur's gate / Icewind dale series, Arcanum, daggerfall. Though, like I said I am trying to only game on consoles from now onwards.

Okay, I am going to make a mission of finding those Wii RPGs first, then I will buy my nextgen console. Most likely a 360, from the suggestions given.
