Which CPU will you choose?

I think AMDs current gen CPUs are quite fail from a price performance point when compared to Intel with gaming..

Excuse me? Within 5% performance (at 1920x1080 and up) of Intel parts in 95% of games for 10% (minimum) less cost and you call that fail?

Had you made any mention of productivity software I'd be agreeing, but gaming??....

Performance has little to do with it. Intel is a very bad thing for the CPU industry. Think about that, you know it makes sense.

+1

in my experience AMD mobos are more expansive, I would go with the i7

FFS lol , it seem to be a difficult choice, I hoped that MyBB will give me a obvious choice:D:D

Listen, throw as many price at me as you want, when i had to get a new PC a looked at both AMD and Intel, AMDs CPUs where cheaper, but their mobos cost more, opposite with intel, but now I see you using take2.. no wonder your prices are so fusked up.

Stop being such a fanboy, its not like this is Nvidia vs ATI, okay?

/get me some popcorn
I was going to leave it at that but since you are ready for the show....

Listen, throw as many price at me as you want, when i had to get a new PC
When you had to buy a PC the world was wrong, but now it is fixed and everything is right and AMD is better than intel because intel is evil.
Nvidia and ATI makes no difference because they do not use bully tactics and steal technology.

Dude seriously. AMD motherboards are cheaper than Intel for the same specs. First time in a long time that I've heard Intel is cheaper  Should be easy to prove if true though, so we're all waiting for the LGA1366 board that is cheaper than a similar spec AMD board.

Here is what you should do, in nice easy 1,2,3 steps so you and your brother Julius can follow :

1) Google for "Why intel sux so badly"
2) Read the top result.
3) STFU and use AMD.

thats why I said "in my experience," but AMD fanboy here had a fusking nerd rage and tried to beat me into submission with with the box his AMD mobo came in...

Quoted! for the rage that resulted in two "with"s :p and for general lolz :D

ag man :o thats because I decided to change "with his AMD mobo box" to "with the box his AMD mobo came in"

I kindly pointed out that your experience was wrong because at the time you bought intel the world was wrong. But I fixed it and now you get better value for money from AMD. They also do not kill animals when making things and so on.
I also pointed you to a #1 google result with instructions on what to do in terms of shutting and upping after reading the #1 result.
I have no rage in me, just zen, my AMD did not come in a house, with a mouse in the rain on a train or in an ox with a box - it was just an old 955 BE that someone sold to me as is.

At least I didnt manage to quote your original post which said "the ox his AMD came in" ;)

If you like the colour Blue get Intel.
If you like the colour Green get AMD.

Simple.

If you like both get Intel and nVidia.

The Intel i7 setup will be at least R1000 more than the similar AMD setup, since the Socket 1366 motherboards start at like R2200 and you can get a decent AMD motherboard for R1300, unless you're going for a SLI capable motherboard of course.

lol sorry that is my fault for not expanding.. Was carrying on with the thought of my lil i5 :) in comparison to the above 2 mentioned by OP :)

I really don't think this is a hard choice at all, you the consumer and it's what you get for your money that counts...
Support who offers you the best 'deal'!
If you feel better and are able to sleep at nyt by buying AMD due to tinfoil theories and being scared of the world getting dominated by a giant Intel then get AMD.
If you want price/performance get i5 750/760 :)
If you want more performance and cost is not that big a deal get i7 930
If you don't mind the slight performance hit (which I think is a a little over the 5% mentioned by Archer BUT I have not done calculations and huge comparisons between reviews and crunched the numbers, this is just my own perception of the results I've read) get AMD
If you want the option to upgrade your chip later on, i7 offers that as they are still manufacturing those chips next year as far as I know form the Intel roadmaps (must get an updated one though)
