Hey Friends,

Can you guys share your thoughts on which electric toothbrush I should go for. The reason I am going electric is because I have been brushing too hard and have damaged my gums. Also because of drinking lots of tea, I have prominent stains. I brush twice a day and floss at least once a day.

Some of my requirements are:
  • Pressure sensor - so i can tell when to ease up on the pressure
  • Decent battery life - these geniuses that built this house didnt install any electrical outlets in the bathroom, so I dont want to have to charge this daily
  • Must assist with stain removal / whitening
  • Budget not more then R1.5k
Thanks

Thank you both. Will look into these two options

I watched a good few videos on YouTube last night. Given my condition with the gums receding, the sonic toothbrush is recommended.

Most suggest both are good and if you have no existing issues either rotating head or sonic is fine, and it would be personal preference.

One thing I did gather is both Philips and Oral B have too many options, which makes it very confusing.

Also the top of the range toothbrushes clean the same as mid range, but the difference is they would have lots of other features like multiple modes, longer lasting battery.

I hope this helps somebody else who might be looking.

Philips and just get this https://www.takealot.com/philips-so...n-4300-hx6809-16-electric-toothb/PLID68907200

Yes, I have the exact same model. Any lower model Philips doesn’t have the same number of vibrations per minute.

Very different way you need to “clean” your teeth, you don’t brush, but just move the device head over the teeth.

Takes some getting used to. Found my toothpaste mostly dropping off in the first few times I used it.

Yes that's true. I do have the Philips One as well though. It's great for traveling.
