Hey guys,

Not sure if this has been asked before but now that I see Telkom has activated the fiber in our suburb I'm looking to signup with one of the ISPs.
I'm looking to get a 10Mbps or 20Mbps line, and it's only Telkom/Openserve in our suburb atm.

So far I see Webafrica, ISPAfrika, ?RSAWEB?, VOX & Axxess has updated their availability map so I can order from them.
I can't seem to find anything on Crystalweb or Iconnectsa atm, but have mailed them to hear what they can offer.
Still have to compare the installation cost, and how cancellation works in regards to penalties if I want to move to another ISP.

My question is how is the FUP on the different ISP's accounts? I tried to read thru all the threads and google but couldn't find anything concrete.
I use about 400Gb-600Gb per month:
I'm the only family member that has uncapped atm (don't ask because I keep trying to convince everybody to go uncapped) so when someone asks for a Linux distro I get the 1080/720p DTS version for them. What is the use of spending money on all the nice equipment if you are only going to use a low quality distro.
Most of this happens during the night automatically, so downloading at night time is not a problem.
That combined with my Steam/PS4 downloads and streaming videos makes up the 400-600Gb per month.

Anybody in the same situation as me or anybody with experience with the above mentioned ISP?
Not planning to download the web, just don't want to "upgrade" to fiber and then not having the same or better experience as I'm getting now on ADSL.

Thanks in advance :D

AXXESS!!!!!

I cant stress it enough.

Axxess got me my fibre line, then I use Afrihost 100GB account with AH Plus so I get 200GB. on my 10meg line I have pulled 450GB during the night (from 11.30pm to 7.30pm its all free uncapped.)

Thanks for the reply.
Still waiting for almost everybody to reply to my questions, but reading the other threads it looks like Vox and Webafrica aren't doing to well with support or access wise.

Ag ffs!!!!

Does anybody have a contact at Openserve/Telkom I can contact regarding my address on their fiber website checker.
Axxess & Webafrica shows my address fine and able to get fibre, but most of the other ISPs say I don't have fiber access when they check.

Every single house around me and across the road has access but not mine!?!?
Problem seems that because our house is on a corner Openserve/Telkom thinks it's not in my street but the street joining the t-stop.
So the joining street using my number has access, but if you check the number and joining street name that address is about 15 houses down.

Every single house in my street has access but because of the error my number is not on the list!!!!
They can give me ADSL at my non existing address but can't provide me with fiber now.
Why does everything always have to have problems when dealing with Openserve/Telkom?
