1. World of Warcraft
2. Old Republic

Im thinking of buying one of these games.

Why not wait for the new Guild Wars 2 to come out, or in the meantime get GW1? Epic game, and there are no monthly subs either.

WoW:
- 7 year head start
- Dumbed down gameplay
- Large community
- Most players are max lvl and expect you to be as well
- Vast end game content
- It's all about end game, leveling is just an inconvenience
- Medievil gameplay, swords/magicka/horses.
- Customizable everything via addons (not always a good thing)
- Best character freedom of any game to date (running/swimming/flying/etc.)
- Nice professions system

SWTOR:
- It's Star Wars, so there's a metric farktonne of lore
- Excellent voice acting and interactive quest dialogues
- Ample cutscenes
- Complete and very involved class storylines
- Emerging community, making starting out a pleasure due to lots of new players around
- New game bugs.
- Lightsabers
- Space combat
- No addons
- Companions ... and lots of them!
- Professions are still a bit meh.
- Set in space 3000 years before a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

Neither. Star Trek Online. It's free and you actually don't miss much by having a free account unlike all the other "free to play" MMO's. Plus you get to fly around in a big starship and kill Borg.

You'll sign up for a free trial and download the client. Pm me your email addy and I'll send you a free trial. Once the trial is up, should you choose to continue, its avout R90 a month, less if you buy 3 month or 6 month subs.
