As some of you know, we have introduced hiring out games at The Play Pen.

B4 we rush out and buy some new stock, please would you give us an idea on which games you would and would not rent. We don't wanna buy anything to gather dust.

For those of you interested the fee structure is:

PS2 and XBox1 games

R10.00 per day

Wii, PS3 and XBox360

R20.00 - 1 day
R35.00 - 2 days
R40.00 - 3 days
R60.00 - 1 week

We will work like this for a while while we build up more stock and client base and then introduce a monthly option.

PC Games ... sumfing we will consider for the future. Thanks for the idea.

PC games 4 me.

Also, it is illegal to rent out most games without permission from the authors (read the EULAs of UT and WoW etc). So have fun getting sued.

Our license from the FPB covers DVDs and Games, so I think we are safe there.

Why would you call this spam?? I understood this forum was anything to do with gaming, i thought gamers would be interested in where they could save a buck rather than spend 100s on new games. We got such gr8 feedback from PS, XBox and Wii forums, looks like u PC people are a different kettle of fish

Why make topic here when this is clearly something for the console guys? Make a topic in the console section. . . I understand this is general, but lets be honest, there are more pc gamers here the console.

where is the play pen?

and your website...

where are you situated?

if someone advertising a product / service should this not be in the classified section?

I'll look in the classifieds section, new to the site.

We are in Tableview, 125 Blaauwberg Rd, opposite On-tap plumbing

Seems our site has reached its 1GB bandwidth limit, will need to increase it.

Your joking, right? The only one that can give out the permissions you need are the publishers of the individual games. The FPB does not have the authority to grant you the right to rent.

The license you have gives you the right to operate a business that rents out games. That is all good an well, but you *also* need the rights for the content. Just because I'm allowed to sell/rent out software in SA does not mean that I can rent out copies of Microsoft Windows.:(

Then again, SA law enforcement can't even handle murder cases, so I think you won't get hassled.

pc games will not work as it is not to easy to copy the game. I done this with Call of duty 4, command & conquer 3: Tiberium wars, etc. So ja you see the problem. I will go and rent many games and just go home and copy the game and then enjoy the game I just copy.

You would need some special CD that can't be copied and also a key that's not supporting online play.

If everyone rents the game once and copies it, they still make a lot more money than not stocking it at all... :p

Most people only rent games once anyway, so why would they care if you rent it to copy it?
