Can you guys please help me decide, I would like to know which of the following GPU's would be the best buy.

SAPPHIRE Radeon R7 240, 1GB, DDR5, PCI-Express 3.0 or
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 650, 1GB, DDR5, PCI-Express 3.0 and then
MSI GeForce GT 740, 2GB, DDR5, PCI-Express 3.0

I assume the GT 740 would be the best option as it has the most memory, but would is the difference in the GT and GTX range.

I also saw that the GTX 650 does not support DirectX 11.2, but the other 2 cards do, so what other card would you go for, if you had R1200 to spend

You can use this to see which is better:

A lot of those cards aren't listed though.

You can afford a R7 250 with your budget.

I'd get one of these:
http://www.wootware.co.za/powercolo...ard-includes-1-free-game-amd-bronze-tier.html

Or if that is out of stock:
http://www.wootware.co.za/sapphire-r7-250-1gb-gddr5-boost-128bit-desktop-graphics-card.html

Just make sure you get a DDR5 version.

I normally buy at Rebeltech and I see they have an R7 250 (MSI Radeon R7 250, 1GB, DDR5, Express 3.0) for R1219, which is within reach.

One more thing I just want to know. Is there a big performance difference between the GTX 650 and the R7 250, both being 1GB DDR5 cards, as I see the GTX is R50 more, which would not be a problem.

It's worth noting that there's a significant difference between the standard GTX 650 and the GTX 650 Ti. If a GTX 650 Ti falls within your budget, I would go with that.

Hey if you budget is a little flexible, this would smash both those cards easily:
http://www.rebeltech.co.za/1899-gig...yte-radeon-r7-250x-gv-r725xoc-1gd-oc-edi.html

You can see the benchmarks here:

It's great value for money. well worth the extra R100.

250x outperforms a 650Ti by quite a bit. Check my link above.

I say go with the R7 250x. You can get one from Wootware for R1199. Delivery is R43 So total cost =R1242. It's slightly cheaper compare to Rebel. Plus you can redeem 1 free game or you can sell it to recover some costs.

del R43?? My side it is almost R200....

I live in JHB, so I assume that the delivery costs won't be R43, whereas Rebeltech charges me R90

Those cards are too slow. It might be worthwhile going second hand instead.
You live in the Johannesburg area?

Going new, that would be indeed the best option, the x edition. I would however try and aim for the R2000 mark, that's when the GTX 750 class starts becoming an option.
