Which GPU is better?

Personally, I wait every couple of years then buy as big as I can afford... Had my 670 now for about 2 years, still loving it. And I play at High resolutions (2560 X 1440). I cant spend 2.5k to 3k on something that just cuts the grade. Once off ... 6K purchase lasts me a number of years.

Problem with 1gb GPU's is that 1gb VRAM is not that suitable anymore for gaming with the latest titles.

Most people can live without 20x AA and 10593x AF in their games. I got a R1600 GPU (HD7770) and it plays all the games I want to play quite happily at standard resolutions (1920x1080, most settings medium to high, low AA/AF settings). I might need to upgrade for the PC version of GTA V, but I'll wait to see if that's a decent port before I go dropping a ton of cash on a new GPU.

The problem with 2Gb cards is that, the ones under 2k are too slow to begin with to play the newer games. Also depends on how you defin newer games, as far as I'm concerned Far Cry 3 was the end of the Xbox360, PS3 era.

If you run a G3258 duo core and have a 1Gig Vram card that scores close to the 2000 mark you can easily run that game on high.

Far Cry 4 represents the new generation. (an actually optimized next gen title)

The R7 260x 2GB GDDR5 card comes in at R2k or below. It will run the newest titles easily.

My current card is so crap that even the 240 would be a big step up, but I will try to get a 250x for now.
