Howzit guy. I want to get a new GPU and im not sure which one to get.

I want to get a GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 960, but on Rebeltech there are like 7 types of 960's to choose from and im not sure which one to go for ( Budget limit is below R5000 )

I asked my friend on what he thinks and he suggests i go for the ASUS GeForce GTX 670, 2GB, DDR5, PCI-Express 3.

Im not sure and what to get and would like some options and opinions :D

I can confirm the 670 is a nice card. I use it on a i7 2600 with 4 Gig DDR3 1333 memory and play most games at solid 60 fps. Less optimized games sometimes dip to 40 or 50.

I have the Gigabyte GTX670 2Gig GDDR5 OC Windforce edition.

If you have a budget of R5000 why are you even looking at 960s?

Or if you can push up your budget by R400:

Rather get a R9 380. 960 is rubbish. It can't run TW3 (My personaly GOTY for 2015) on high settings smoothly. If you can push your budget higher, get a R9 390 and you will be a happy gamer for a long time :) Throw any badly optimized AAA games such as Fallout 4 and Arkham Knight at it, it will swallow them up happily. No spits. Nada.

The gtx 670 is quite an old card.

Do you have any card atm ? I can offer you the evga gtx 970 for R5300 and then you can trade in your old gpu and get the price reduced.

970 is horribly engineered. Google "970 3.5 GBVRAM WTFLOL"

...
It is a masterwork of engineering, even though it has low VRAM.
I would pick the R9 390 over it. @OP, don't go for the GTX960, rather get the R9 380, it is a lot more future proof as the current crop of GTX cards are not that great with DX12, you will have to wait for the new batch to have a hardware scheduler.

Yeah, the 380 jas the best DX12 support fo any card out now. On par with the Fury cards.

Thanks guys for the input. I just want value for money and want to buy a card that will last me a long time. I see the R9 380 has got good reviews, but i want to be absolutely sure of this.
@Gtx Gaming, my card blew due water damage so i'm basically buying from scratch :D

Just another question, should i go for MSI or GIGABYTE? on the R9 380 range?

Currently very future proof with DX12 support. You won't go wrong with the R9 380

Why would you not recommend he spend R500 more and get the 4GB version?

Do you mean the GTX970? It's 3.5GB and the R9 380/390s are better value for money.

EDIT: Oh, you mean the graphic cards he linked, good question.

Haven't used SAPPHIRE range yet, Isn't MSI more reliable? or are they equals?

Sapphire is to AMD, what EVGA is to nVidia.

They only make AMD cards and get all the cool limited edition stuff, like EVGA gets for nVidia.
