which GTA? 3 or vice city

So steam has just listed the GTA's at 75% off. I would like to get one, but seeing as how I am on capped 2GB I can only get GTA 3 (500mb) or Vice City (915mb)

So which one should I get. I know nothing of the franchise not even which is the newer one.

Vice City is the newer one of the two, although it isn't as big (content wise) as GTA III. Don't let the sizes fool you. On the other hand, you can do more stuff in VC than GTA III, such as riding on motorcycles, buying property to name a few :)
 
Oh and you get a bunch of awesome 80s tunes to listen to on the radio in Vice City :D
 
San Andreas had huge maps, three or four cities with lots of rural area between. You had to work out in the gym, eat, socialize, it was not a game you could play in a few days or even weeks, there was a lot to do to keep you busy.

GTA IV had a smaller map, only one city, but much more detailed. It was a more serious GTA. You did not have to socialize, but by keeping friends and girlfriends you got some help, like back up in a fight, or weapons. It would keep you busy for awhile.

Concerning your choices, I would take Vice City, it was GTA3 just more refined. Its Miami Vice meets Scarface, there is even a room with a bloody bathtub.
 
VC - Can buy property etc. and the cool rock songs (and also a mission with a Rock Band).
Can also Fly in this one, can't remember if you can fly in 3.
 
ended up getting vice city- seemed to be the overwhelming choice. Thanks for the feed back, now I just need to put Rome total war down and download VC....
