Which Headset is the best for Gaming?

Lol, just realised I've had a 7.1 sound card for 6 years and I've been using it with 2.1 speakers or my stereo headphones. Never thought to try 7.1 headphones or even 5.1

edit: I do realise I don't need the soundcard to use the headphones in the link but it was just funny to me that I never thought of using more channels.

Agreed. Had to also purchase a Sound card when I got mine as the onboard was just not strong enough. Made them quite expensive - but worth every cent...

Best gaming headset is...

1. your own mic
2. proper hifi head phones
3. proper sound card

You can easily take that odd 3k spent on "gaming" "headset" and turn it into a real solution

I have a set of Coolermaster Sirus 5.1 analog headphones that I'm actually selling because I'm ending up using my normal headphones more for the fit with my headset. It's this pair - if you're looking for decent 5.1 it's a good bet. You get a tremendous sense of directionality. I had the Corsair 1500 and 2000s and I would say they're also very good but the 7.1 isn't as authentic since it's all done in software rather than the actual speaker drivers.

I have the same setup. Game Zero and Sound Blaster ZX. It's awesome.

Don't bother with 5.1 or 7.1 headphones, it's a gimmick. They can't do anything stereo cans can't do, since you only have 2 ears.
