Which inverter to get

That doesn't look great. With a 10a charger that thing will probably take more than 8 hours to fully charge.
10A is part of the equation, but what is the voltage?

Edit: I see 25.6V.

That means 3.8 hours for the smaller Contour 1000, and double that for the Contour 2000. Not great, but OK.

I saw that it comes with a 250W charger. I dont think input wattage translates into real world charge times. Batteries tend to charge a lot slower as they get closer to 100%. It would have been better form them to tell us estimated charge times.

Either way, I personally would not want anything that takes ~4 hours to charge 1KWh.

During a prolonged outage I use a generator to charge my Ecoflows and if I want to, I can charge my 2000Wh unit at 2000W so it is full and ready to use in ~1.6 hours from completely flat.

That obviously comes at a price but the Ugreen Powerraom 2200 wasn't that far off pricing wise last time I checked.

Slower charge is far better for battery longevity, as is stopping at 80%. How long have your ecoflows served you for?

I agree that slower charging is better and under normal circumstances and I do charge them slower when I have time to wait (one can set AC charge rate via the app).

I bought my first one in December 2021, but I have to say that I use my units sparingly. I only use them as needed and they do not stay on charge. e.g. I have an ATS on my River 2 that powers my TV. I recharge it via a smart plug that automatically turns off after charging, and the River 2 is set to turn off after x hours if no load is connected to it.

Stopping at 80% seems to be disputable when we are talking about Lifepo4. On NMC there is probably a better case for it.

My understanding is that it affects both chemistries, in particular LiFePo4. Do you have a link to an authoritative source on your statement?

But lithium absorbs whatever watts the charger can give

And like 99% of what you push into a lithium is absorbed

Does lifepo4 batteries charge slower when they are almost full?

I may be wrong but form what I've seen on portable power stations is that the last 10% takes a lot longer...

Maybe it has to do with the internal resistance of the battery or maybe there is protection build in to mitigate against excessive heat.

From my experience it is all about the voltage

If the voltage is high enough it will charge the same speed all the way to just about the top ie just as almost 100% full it tapers down

If the voltage is further away from 3.65v per cell the CV phase lasts longer

So as soon as the voltage hits the CV voltage the device has set as its max the current drops

So if it slows down 10% from the end it probably has a lower charge voltage imo
