Which iPhone?

Many IT jobs list it as a required or "nice to have" skill especially the phones. When you have 100 or 200 applications for the same job, anything that ticks more boxes gets you closer to the short list.

Just say yes to all then.

On the topic of which iPhone, I currently have an iPhone 8 and its time for an upgrade. My phone is pretty much spotless.

Has anyone here done trade-ins at the iStore? Is it worth it? Do you get discount on your monthly contract or do you just get an istore voucher? My contract is subsidized so I dont see any reason not to upgrade (other than the absolute pile of horsecrap packages MTN is offering lately)

Will the 12 get any cheaper after the launch of the iPhone 13?

I've got the Xr and never bothered with the 11 which was too expensive. Next upgrade which is next year and I'll look at the bottom of the range 12, and give this Xr to my wife to replace her SE.

Do not trade in, simply sell it on carbonite, you'd fetch at least R1 to R2k more on there than what iStore will give you. although iPhone 8 is pretty old so check what it is going for on carbonite and then what istore will give you.

I think it safe to rotate every 2 years, 3 max, 4 is too long.

hmmm I do not think 4 years is too long especially with the iphones & depending whether apple still supports the updates on that particular model. I have the X and will only change if they drop support / it becomes obsolete/ or some bad sh#*t happens to it. But hey, I guess its always nice to have the latest for some people. I for one am not bothered with such, but then again my age might be the factor here

Then you sit with something you cannot resell. & will need to fork out more for a new one.

IE if you plan to stay in the ecosystem then rotate every 2 to 3 years
