Which is the best printer for printing cd faces/labels?

Please don't jump the gun this is not for printing pirated shyt.:o

Canon, relevant IP range.

Which model within the IP range would you recommend, looking at something that will give me good printing quality. Price range would also be appreciated

IP5200 does a fairly good job for home use. Cheap (sub-R1000) printer.

What about labels?

My problem with a inkjet printer is that the ink rubs off :/ i once made a dvd for someone where the whole dvd was black and after touching it once the ink smeared off, so i would rather print it with a laser using CD Labels.

Cannon IP5200 is great.

Also get quality discs. I've never had a single problem printing on mine with colour smudges.

But if your looking at laser then just get some Verbatim labels. I used those before I got my cannon.

Which one is better Laser or Ink Jet, not concerned about the price too much. I am mainly looking for good quality.

Is the ink consumption the same with Ink/Laser?

I prefer laser because it is less suceptible to being rubbed off.

afaik laser uses less and is quite a bit cheaper.

The samsung clp-315 i think is quite a good quality printer from what i understand and its ink isn't that overpriced.

I had the IP4200 from Canon and never had problems with ink running off cd's etc, but then again I used the correct writable cd's and dvd's I still have printed discs from a couple years back that are completely black and they are in great condition. It is rather important to let the ink dry properly.

Anyhow just my 2c worth, Canon makes great printers never had problems.

And I suppose all the printers suggested below can print 1 cd at a time?

well the ip 4200 and im sure all the other ip ranges have a cd tray and a separate slot that it slides in to, prints one disc at a time, if you are wanting to print on lots of cd's at once I don't think these printers are what you would need ;)

I am looking for a printer which has a slot for me to put in more then one CD so that I don't have to open the printer every time it finishes printing a single CD

post the price when you get it, would be interesting. Also note the colour limitations on certain models.
