I know nothing about it so I cant comment. Generally is FOSS, if its better it gets adopted (over time). Im all for anything better

Have been doing some boot time experiments recently on the heavy weight distros. Seems like the LXDE based versions boot noticably faser than the others. An old Acer Aspire One with the ultra-slow 8 GB SSD (slowest booting thing you will meet this year) running lubuntu on automatic login boots up to wireless connected in 27 seconds.
In general it looked like the desktop environment had a major impact. If you want to characterise the boot process then bootchart is a good tool <http://www.bootchart.org/>.

Fastest booting OS I ever tried was Kolibri OS - not exactly Linux & not sure about WiFi support but will boot off a flash drive.
