I'm currently with Telkom internet 2mbs uncapped and it is pathetic! i can't download anything my speed test brings up between 30-70kbs downloads, YouTube takes forever in 240p. I have checked and my area supports 4mb!?
So i was wondering which is the best ISP around for a 2mbs uncapped. I'm mainly looking at Afrihost, Webafrica and Mweb.
Can anyone please help me...
Are you still experiencing problems on your Telkom Internet account?
We made some big changes last weekend, to address some requirements which were found to not be working in mid-February. Unfortunately, changes like this can have unintended, unforseen, and impossible to test consequences, which we have been addressing during the week. By Thursday morning, most issues should have been resolved, but we did find that a subset of customers were impacted by another issue until Friday evening.
We believe that almost all issues were resolved by early Saturday morning, except one issue that remains (high international gaming latency), which we hope to address tonight.
From my own experience, and the reports of most other users here, video streaming etc. should be good. I personally have no buffering on 360p youtube, many 480p videos play without buffering or minimal buffering, and some well-optimised 720p videos also manage good playback (on my personal 2Mbps TI uncapped).
If it is not fixed for you, I would appreciate it if you could PM me your TI username.
(If a speedtest to the Rosebank SAIX speedtest server on TI doesn't give you more than 1.6Mbps now, I would suspect a DSLAM problem)
