Avoid evetech.
Get an extended warranty, you will have problems with the laptop later in its life.

I haven't followed or heard of any issues with evetech, what's the problem with them?

There are quite a few threads on mybb & carb about them. They will fsck you over properly.

Just shout if you want more.

Unless you up by ~R1/2k you will probably have to compromise on one of those things.

Hi Wobbie

How is this laptop working for you? My brother is looking to get the exact same one and thought I would check what your experience is first before he goes to buy it.

It's an Asus though. They are nice yes, but the support is horrible in ZA. Always look at them and then go to an other brand in the end

About 10K. Anything you can suggest?
You have a limited amount of options for R10k, but here are my picks:

Lenovo S145 @ R8499 (previous gen, but still good)

HP Pavilion 15 @ R8999 (requires another 4GB DIMM, but build quality is decent)

Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15API @ R9847 (Ryzen 5 3500U, soldered plus one DIMM)

I would also go to a local Incredible Connection and try score a deal with a display unit. Some of the higher-end machines get discounted to around R10k.
