It's pretty good.

Be careful though - its one of the few L grade lenses that isnt weatherproof so be particularly careful around sand.

I got the lens and a camera bag/backpack (~R800) (about 10liters, it can take up to 5 lenses, max 200mm) for less than the standard price of that lens.

It does:

The lens does not extend during zooming and the front element remains in place so using a polarizer is no problem unless you attach the deep hood.
