Hi All

In the market for a new media player and cant decide what to get. I mainly want to play off my local network but would be nice if it does have the hulu+ and netflix functions as well.

I have had the following media players.

1. Xtreamer 1
2. Xtreamer 2
3. Mede8er 500x2

While I personally think the xtreamers are fail. A friend of mine says the xtreamer 3(with andriod 2.2) is laggy and from what I have read you cannot load xbmc cause of the android version. Xtreamer has no plan to upgrade their verison.

So I have been looking at the following:

1. Roku 3 - drawbacks are the local network function having to run plex media server on your pc and stream it.
2. Gbox MX2 - Has xbmc, hulu+, etc. But from what a reviewer said that it too is laggy in the menus. Also seems a bit cheaply built.

Has anyone here used both these devices? or any other device? What media player do you guys swear by?

Thanks

I've got the WD Live too. Amazing little thing.
No it doesn't have a volume control on the remote, simply because it pushes you to use your TV or amplifier's volume control. I actually prefer it that way. If you install the android remote for it, it does have a volume control though.

WD TV live, no complaints at all, plays everything I have thrown at it.
