Which motherboard-Intel Core 2 Duo

Hey all.

I am building (or trying to build) up a pc. I wanted to get an Intel motherboard to go with the chip but I read in this forum that they dont advise Intel boards? Any reason for this and if true, which motherboard should I go for?

Could get a MSI G31M2 V2 It Support's Core 2 Duo/Quad/Pentium D/E/Celerons and the New 45Nm Yorkfield & Wolfdale CPU's

Oh they said don't get "Intel Branded" boards cause they suck when it comes to overclocking, basicaly it's a Intel made board like a "Intel G31 pearl creek" motherboard. it's better to get Gigsbyte/MSI/Asus/XFX lol wich ever you like they all the same :D

Looks fine, as long as you aren't a gamer. If you are, then you wont be using the on-board graphics.

Will not be using it for gaming! *got XBOX 360 :)-I love my wife* Mainly for internet, maybe some graphic work (autocad lt, photoshop), office etc. Planning to get the Samsung 22' LCD to go with it!
 
Well, I work with AutoCAD as well, and I would SERIOUSLY consider going for a PCI-E GPU with atleast 256MB dedicated RAM. I have a 7600GS, E6600 C2D @2.4Ghz and 2GB RAM with Visata x64, and AutoCAD runs nicely. I have a Samsung 22", and it is amazing for CAD work

They're saying don't buy motherboards that are made by Intel (mainly because you can't/it's hard to overclock on Intel boards). Rather buy another brand of board that runs Intel CPUs. Most people here are advocates of current Intel CPUs. :)
 
But as was mentioned above, if you're going to be using AutoCAD, a dedicated graphics card is recommended. Look around for a second hand 6600GT, which should be perfect. Or a second hand 7600GT silent pipe, if you're sensitive to noise...
