The "R" is a business item. Won't get reviews. Yes, the non-R has 2x AA batteries, but I just imagine how much weight that adds. I have the MX900 at the office now and after using the MX1000 for years I cannot understand how I managed to use the MX900 which had 2x AA batteries. It feels like it weighs a ton.
And one has to be careful just popping rechargable batteries into something like that. Sometimes something designed for normal batteries will put a larger current draw on the lower-volted rechargables.
From what I can tell the "R" is the exact same thing as the non-R, except for the recharge port, battery and more business-like blue lettering compared to the orange.
It's also a little weird that the MX1100 actually feels warmer in the palm than the MX1000. Have you noticed that?
