Hi there,

Just a quick question:

I have two cellphones,
a Nokia navigator with a Vodacom simcard that I use for private calls and a Samsung D900i with Cell C simcard for work related calls. Both are on contracts.

I have had numerous problems with the Samsung - very low signal with poor reception ( I`m not even going to go into battery life) even when the Nokia have all the signal bars and excellent reception.
Is this a handset or a service provider problem?
Or even worse a combination of the two? (Cell C + Samsung)

The Cell C contract is due for a upgrade and I think that I should either get another contract from Vodacom or go to MTN. Which new phone should I choose?

Is there any info available that tells you how good a specific phones reception is?
I`m willing to forgo certain functions on a phone for better reception.

Thanx in advance for your help.

It's not your phone. It's Cell C's coverage. You can manually set the phone to roam on Vodacom. It won't cost you anything extra.

If you don't believe me about the coverage, swop the simcards between the phones.
