Which OS do you prefer?

LOL...If I was to choose a OS...it wouldn't be vista...it plays gummi bears on the install....ask Linoman!
 
Since Ubuntu 8.04, and now 8.10, haven't been back to Windows. Especially in 8.10, everything just works. I use the pc primarily as a entertainment station (music, movies) and for the occasional editing of word or excel docs and surfing the net.
 
If my nick don't tell you then you'll never get it.. :D
 
I dual boot vista and XP, had ubuntu on 3rd hard drive but didn't use it a lot cause I like my games and visual studio :)
 
I bet if we had to conduct a poll on this forum, Mac would come somewhere last. The order would probably be:

1. XP
2. Vsta
3. Mac
4. Linux
 
problem with mac is.. u need to buy mac hardware too ;) and with SA its insanely costly
 
I prefer Linux but I can see the reason for Windows and the Mac's scoring higher. Most users only wants stuff to work and as such I reckon that Linux users will more likely be classified as enthusiasts or as hackers (good definition) striving for a custom user experience tweaking the entire system to their exacting specifications.
 
Why would you want to change to Linux, what are the benefits? And how is Linux with games?

Way more stable, it is free plus any apps you need are free....Stick with Windows if you are a gamer.....I am going to install Ubuntu on my Laptop tmrw, I have decided :D
