Yeah I agree but like I mentioned, I want to try "future-proof" (I know that is impossible in the tech world) so that I wont need to upgrade in the next year or 2 and my parents won't be stuck with an ageing system. Im very much in two minds with AMD and Intel only because Intel has been my choice for years but my brother is devoted to AMD so its a little family feud going on. Would they see much difference between an i5 SB and i5 IB processor cause Im sure I can save some extra cash going the SB route maybe?

I don't like Intel because of ethics and because they're basically a monopoly. By supporting Intel you're only harming yourself long term.
Then when it comes to parents they won't see a difference at all between the two so see no reason not to do the "right thing".
