Which PSU?

I think I saw gigabyte psu's on eitai's site. Digitaladiction.

Take the Coolermaster 460W it works trust me.... (Reviews have concluded its pushing 430w but Stable!)
Build a Pc for my friend a couple of weeks ago with that exact PSU... he is running:
Asus P5E Mobo
C2D E8400
6GB Kingmax DDr2 800
Asus 3870 512mb
2x 250Gb Satas

That PSU has enough amps to run that 4850 im sure it should work well. Hope this helps.

I ended up getting a Gigabyte 550w..

I also found a PC shop selling HD4850's for R2100.
Picking it up tomorrow or wednesday :D

Going into a C2D (not decided on exact cpu), 2x sata drives, dvd drive and a HD4850.

Normally I'd always go for the better brand but both these are on the cheap side of things, so doubt there will be too much of a differance inside. Other suggestions welcome :)
Budget Max R650

Thanks :)

When I put my 4850 into my system with 1xHDD 1xOptical etc. the Omega would kick up a noise during taxing games as the second fan would turn on to dissipate the heat.
So consider that..
You ideally want a psu with a 120mm or larger fan, though not always a guarantee against noise..

That's what you get for skimping on your psu. Next time, spend a bit more.

Yeah, I am always very hesitant with brands I don't recognise. Some times you find gems but most of the time it ends badly.

SoooOOOoooOOOrrRYY!! ..Wait.. what do I get? Oh OK, knower of all things..
Aww GIVE ME A HUG!! I think you need it! *russles the hair on your head*
;)

It didn't struggle, just made a noise during heavy gaming, ..and it handled my old heavily overclocked 7900gtx with ease.

I upgraded my psu accordingly for the new card.

Those Omega's are not totally rubbish PSU's. Plenty of people totally happy with them. As was I, all I was saying is that the closer you get to their limits the noisier they'll be under load (CPU + GPU).

The Isonic 600W modular is plenty fine and its modular.
I would go with one of those if you are looking for a fairly cheap PSU that does a good job.

Yip they are heavy, quality looking things. Not the best, but definately not dodge. Plus, once you go modular, you won't want to go back!
