Which restaurant chain do you like the most? If your favourite restaurant chain is not listed in the poll (if you select Other), please tell us which restaurant you like in the comments.

Ocean basket for me. Especially the one in Galleria mall here in KZN. Sushi was top notch and so was my steak:thumbsup:

If restaurant "chains" were consistent throughout the whole franchise, it would be much easier to answer this question.
Unfortunately, you eat at a branch in Jozi tonight, leave with a hard-on, only to deflate said hard-on at a different branch.
Tsek!

Oceanbasket is the most consistant.

RM-If there is a Spur next to it, then its normally crap.
TnT-Some are good, others way to average

Pannarottis. Their pizzas are just on a different level compared to the FastFood/take-away pizza joints.
The best pizza bases and pretty good topings. Not as pretentious as Col Cachio with their topings either...

I like Doppio Zero. Their menu is a little different and they have a several options that are healthy but taste good.

Of the ones listed above I would have to say the Dros. I cannot really say that I have had a bad meal there.
Their Thursday calamari and chips special for R45 is epic!

Used to like the Ocean Basket, but they had seriously declined IMO. And I'm basing that on the last few times I've eaten there (Durban, Gauteng and twice in Cape Town). The portions are no where near what they used to be (e.g. Platter for One). Prices are ridiculous. Waterfront one served dried, cold food last time. The sushi at Camps Bay was disgusting.

The Spur was fun in its day, but just dated now. Their burgers used to be nice. You could tell it was made from ground beef. Now it is more like a generic frozen patty.

Mugg & Bean just has no consistency. Since travel I get to eat at many different locations. When comparing them I don't know how some of them are still part of the "franchise".

Wimpy is OK for those road trips. Their coffee is good.

I like Col'Cacchio's. But, their pricing has also become ridiculous.

Doppio Zero is excellent. Good bread and I have never had a bad meal at any of their restaurants.

Then you've been lucky. I had the worst breakfast ever at their Sunninghill branch, won't go back there.

This is so true!

Del Forno has been good to us lately, Roccomamas are hit or miss most times.

Whenever I go to Dros, I drink five draft beers and then I'm happy no matter what they feed me.

Indeed, the Rocco-mamma in 4 ways generally good whereas the one in Kyalami, always some stuff up.
Looks like a new one coming to Monte, they going to make a killing there.

I don't rely on chains, I go to where food is the best, there are many smaller outfits that outperform the chains with regards to food quality

This is true. I stopped going to M&B for this very reason.
