Which rewards programme is actually worthwhile?

Also, this stuff is expensive. Some time in planning seems the wise option. I mean we'd do it in buying a car, or a house?

Me either. Once a week it arrives in my gate. Benoni city times.

Oh that kind of newspaper. Yeah, still too much effort for me. Can't beat Checkers 15% back. Which is then converted to vouchers at 40% off.

So for R100 spend at Checkers I get R15 back which is then worth R25. So that R100 cost me R75.

The adverts in my local paper, planning my route effectively, ten minutes of my time in pre planning and shopping list creation.
Bl@ksem, did not think people still do this. Pamphlet scouting for specials to save a few rands while you have to stand in queues waiting at tills at 4 or 5 different supermarkets. Wasting valuable time. Crazy!

Look, I have to go to dischem anyway, so why not play the checkers and the PnP in between them off one another? Also, what queues? I do my monthly shop when you lot are at work. Not 5, not even 4 shops.

Dischem, pnp/checkers (sometimes both, but they're en route) and Tony's shop for fruit and veg - locally procured produce and great prices.

And I get my rewards for shopping just like I would with no reward system in place. This is the same shopping system at the same shops I used ten years ago, before I had anything other than a clicks club card.

Until I married this wife three years ago, I didn't know a smart shopper card or an ebuck from a frogs arse. What's worse is I was working at fnb when they invented ebucks. Dammit.

Currently getting value out of:
Amex/British Airways Avios - Good for about 2-3 mid length return flights per year. 6k zar benefits
Hilton - Got 4 "free" nights out of it. Also about 6k zar benefits

They're both on quite high spend amounts though (quarter bar), so substantially lower ROI than what I gather ebucks provides. Slightly jealous. :o

Still look for a card that provides good cash back & isn't capped.

Also, I track prices from one monthly shop to another via the app I use to make the list in the first place.

I agree after the first shop I'm so annoyed already. On a good day I may survive filling up my car and visit a local Spar.

Collected 350k ebucks in 6 months. But I have nothing to spend it on sadly

That's R35,000 in 6 months
So, R5800+ in a month

You can donate it to charity, although I don't believe the amount

Just over 6 months now that I've checked.
Had some big spending in that period.

Quite plausible for those running a business through a card with points. Like half the spend on my cards is corporate expenses funnelled through the cards.

I was with ABSA, just this month, I am moving to FNB so that I can buy a new iPhone phone next year October just from eBucks... I calculated and I will be on level 5 with the new rules, and I drive a lot, so I'll make plus minus 8000 eBucks a month, which would equate to about 100000 or more ebucks in about over a year, I made roughly R160/m ABSA, so without any major changes to my banking and spending... So, I'll try it and see...

How nice....!!!!
