I look forward to the day when YT Premium is >R400pm and there's no ways to sidestep the geo-restriction. Suddenly all the okes who have to defend their purchase instead of realising that YT is making the product worse while not actually offering anything, might actually catch a wake up.

It was funny seeing some of the okes on this forum defending YT Premium and arguing with me, are the same okes in the other thread who were complaining how their VPN wasn't working to side-step geo-restrictions briefly the other day.
Lol and you probably watch YT with an adblocker.

Netflix, Amazon Prime, Showmax and Spotify.
Might get Disney later on....

The ad-blockers don't work if you're casting or using the TV apps.

R400pm for YT Premium is still a bargain IMO.

Doesn't really work on mobile or TV...
Works on mobile, but it's a pain to browse YT in a browser vs the YT app. For TV I usually have a laptop connected running Brave. Not ideal I'll admit, but at least no ads.

I wouldn't pay SA prices for YouTube.

Moenie die bobbejaan agter die bult gaan haal nie, pel.

As far as I'm aware, YT doesn't have any georestriction issues. Netflix, Disney, maybe. But by that logic, you'd never actually do anything.

"You'll be sorry when the price of avos goes above R500/kg! Then let's see how much you like your avo toast!"
Relax, chill, enjoy your youtube in the meantime.

YT Prem is R72 and I can cancel anytime I decide that it's not worth it anymore. If they raise prices, I can it and then my kids have to get used to watching Disney DVDs instead of streaming. But it's nowhere near that point yet.

Jip @ R400 pm is still a bargain. Youtube Premium will most likely become what a DSTV sub was in the old days. You still pay and pay even if it's R900 pm.

Life is too short for ads. I am a heavy YT user.

And YT Music is rather decent in suggestions and playlists. If there is one thing I wish for it is for YT Music to stream at better quality. Like TIDAL. I have a Tidal sub as well just to make full use of my stereo setup. But the interface is kak and I don't have such lekke playlists as on my YT Music.

Too many

Netflix
Showmax
Apple TV +
Amazon
Brit Box
Disney
YT Prem
Other (Gamepass)

Showmax I'll drop after TLOU finishes. SO pays for Apple & Brit Box. I'd drop Netflix but my Father and a friend use the account too and I don't mind paying for that.

There is a site called CouchTuner which seems to have a lot of the Netflix+Amazon stuff without ads and it looks legit. Only downside is that you cannot watch in HD but still perfectly watchable.

Does "legit" have a different meaning to you?
