Hi Everyone

I am emigrating to Australia soon and I want to transfer some money to a bank account I opened over there. I want to use a SWIFT payment to transfer money from my SA bank account to my Australian account.

The problem is that I don't know which BOP code to use. The closest thing I could find is called "Emigrant Transfers" but that is not supported by my bank.

I am not emigrating financially yet so I don't need a blocked account or anything like that at this point.

Could I perhaps use the "Gifts" category even though I am giving the gift to myself?

Any help would be welcome.

Consult pros. If you are not emigrating finantially, it means you are not emigrating (from the fiscus perspective), so you cannot use this option. There are limits per year you can transfer normally without approval, but how to handle it, I don't know.

As you are not emigrating yet, also consider opening business overseas account. Do you see any "Investment" option?
