She's got a bit old now, see latest Picard.
Did you expect her not to?She's got a bit old now, see latest Picard.
There's a bit of woke reference etc. in SNW but not even close compared to Discovery, your choices suggest you'll enjoy it. Season 2 is also much improved IMO.Discovery put me off the new Trek stuff so badly I haven't even watched Picard or Strange New Worlds.
Season 2 of Discovery? Does it get better? I gave up halfway through season 1.There's a bit of woke reference etc. in SNW but not even close compared to Discovery, your choices suggest you'll enjoy it. Season 2 is also much improved IMO.
Not better woke-wise, but I ignored that and found it otherwise mostly good enough. One of the seasons got a bit much though, don't remember which but their last one was ok in my book.Season 2 of Discovery? Does it get better? I gave up halfway through season 1.
She gets worse....That lead character Michael is so unlikeable. The whole thing of how she's just the best at everything immediately and never needs to try. There's no real need for her character to develop, and she's such an obnoxious prick to everyone around her yet all the other characters think her farts smell like roses. it's a pity because I really liked the engineer dude running that magic LSD fungi-drive. He was an interesting character.
I will check out Strange New Worlds though now that you've recommended it. Thanks for that.
I mean Discovery seemed a little woke in that every single competent character in charge was female and all the male characters in any position of power were weak or psychotic. That was heavy-handed but I could look past that. Plenty of the characters felt like real human beings going through hard times. That engineer guy running the fungi-mobile for example was a character I really enjoyed because he was so selfless and dedicated, he gave so much of himself to save his crewmates. Not better woke-wise, but I ignored that and found it otherwise mostly good enough. Only if you can survive her. maybe watch her scenes at a faster speed, lol. Or watch the episodes over a longer time.I mean Discovery seemed a little woke in that every single competent character in charge was female and all the male characters in any position of power were weak or psychotic. But that lead character... I just couldn't keep watching it. Maybe I must give it another go. The story was bloody cool despite Michael and I liked the aesthetics of the ships etc.
You missed my editHave you seen Picard? Is it any good? Does it ruin my favourite ever Star Trek character or should I give it a watch?
To add to it - I felt a mix of hot & cold about it, it never really got good enough IMO. Each season a bit better though.Edit: Picard - maybe skip most of S01, it's drawn out and too little substance.
Its called mature.....She's got a bit old now, see latest Picard.
Strange New Worlds is not bad at all, Lower Decks is proper tongue in cheek comedy, not meant to be take seriously. Funny though.TNG is just the best Trek.
Voyager was alright but the aliens were so wacky.
DS9 was OK I mean... it had some of the funner TNG characters showing up here and there. Worf was in it for ages near the end and he's always fun. Quark was just the best.
Enterprise was not great.
TOS was so cheesy, I've watched it, but honestly could never really get into it. I get why people love it though.
Discovery was hot garbage. The Klingons were so awful.
Discovery put me off the new Trek stuff so badly I haven't even watched Picard or Strange New Worlds.
Lower Decks looks interesting. I haven't watched it yet but intend to.
Last season was quite good though?Discovery revolved too much around 1 main person unlike the other series. Watch it but this put me off a bit. its not what Star Trek was about.
