Intel® Boxed Core2™Duo E7500 Processor - 2.93GHz Dual Core, Socket 775, 3MB, 1066MHz FSB, 45nm,

or

Intel® Boxed Core™ i3 530 Processor - 2.93GHz Dual Core, Socket 1156, 4MB L3, 2.0Gb/s DMI Interface, 32nm,

Both are about the same price.

I would go for the newer technology - i3.

I'd go for the i3, simply because of the larger cache.

The first sounds like a Wolfdale processor, whereas the second is the Clarkdale, the successor to the Wolfdale.

The difference in price comes down to the motherboard and RAM, which is usually more expensive with an i3. The i3 is the better processor and also has a 1333MHz FSB.
