which updates

Hi, being reinstalling xp.
So somewhere around here long time ago, read that only download MS updates you want.
So, how do I know which ones to download.

Problem is that for the vast majority of XP updates, scant information is given in the Automatic Updates window, and with the majority of them being security updates, it takes ages to review each one, or worse yet go view the Knowledge Base article.

Even with XP SP3 installed, you still looking at over 150 updates or so.
