Does anyone know which phone chows more data? The iPhone 4s or the Samsung S3? I currently have a 4s and i go through about 500mb of data a month. Not viewing YouTube vids or things like that, mostly browsing Facebook and Safari. I'm OCD :P

I have the option to switch from a 4s to a s2 or s3. So trying to decide what to do :)

Thanks!

any apple tech uses more data.. the applications for apple are very hungry

I heard the same regarding Apple and their phones being generally more data hungry. But even then, hard to just say, everybody has different data usage patterns.

I have not used an iphone, but I know on the S3 you can block certain apps from using mobile data and restrict them to only wifi. You also can put in some mobile data limits, one limit to warn you, and another to block any additional data usage. You can also control roaming. All native to stock – no additional apps needed. You might get the same on the iphone.

One other thing – iphones getter better data deals on contract then android phones

So you broke your Iphone coz it uses a lot of data? Now you claiming from insurance :D

wow I go through 2GB on my s3 a month, normal browsing, no Facebook, just Whatsapp and Twitter

2gb a month just from browsing? I use 750mb if that a month on my s2 with quite heavy usage, unless you taking the streaming of porn into account.

I use ~300MB per month, mainly because I use wifi at home and at work. Moto Razr ICS.

Yup, with WiFi at home I would have to try pretty hard to go through more than 300MB on my Androids.

Asking a question like that is like asking which car uses more petrol, this Ferrari or that Lambhorghini? It all depends on the user, and what Apps are installed, and how often those apps are updated. It also depends on how many email accounts are setup, how much email you receive, and whether you choose to just download headers, the first 50KB, or the full email.

It also depends on what you do on the social networks. Do you just browse and comment, or do you upload photos and videos, or stream videos. It all depends on the usage pattern.

I usually burn through about 500mb of 3G data on my Galaxy S2, but that is coupled with heavy use on WiFi at home and at the office. How much I really use in total is a mystery to me, probably 2-3GB.

Tru dat, but then again, an M3 is more fuel-efficient than a Prius at 120km/h. Go figure! :p

On my galaxy s1 I used 500mb, on my noteII I average 1.3gig. Signing up for a 2gig a month contract
