Which VNC?

I use Ultra VNC, don't know about the others but it includes a built in file transfer module :D

Ultra VNC

Ultra VNC has more features, like the file transfer, although no recover on broken connections, is reliable, chat, and icons to quickerly change properties.

RealVNC viewer does not offer any of the above, but in full screen mode, the window keys are transferred to the host. I would like to see this in Ultra.

The viewers are compatible accross each other, so if I am going to take full control, I use RealVNC, for keyboard shortcuts, but most of the time I use Ultra.

I have not looked at tight as yet.

As far as I understand it tight is practically standard with encryption. Nice and light as well with no large BW overheads.

UltraVNC

UltraVNC along with hamachi if you want easy secure access across the net. The file transfer option makes it worthwhile.

Prefer ultr@vnc due to the built-in file transfer ability.

But it needs a bit of work especially as the resuming options is a bit confusing after a line drop.

It's a remote desktop application that allows you to connect to another PC over the network/internet and have full control over that PC (you use your mouse and keyboard as if they were attached to the other PC)

Pda

Sorry, forgot about a major advantage with realVNC, it works with Windows Mobile, and so your PDA with wireless LAN functions.

But then again, I use it to link to the host running Ultra server, so get the best of all worlds.

And encryption works on all levels too.
