While we're discussing wireless in general

keithr, how can signal be an issue for the 256k speeds now, when it wasn't 3 months ago?

keithr, if you took the trouble of reading this forum more often you would see that since june we as users have been trying to negotiate something with sentech. ever since the first website launched, it has been "next week it will be fixed" up and until the point of the big end of august promise... now rumoured to be end of october.

a users group of technically minded people went to meet and discuss with sentech, most of which already cancelled or are in the prosess of doing so... me included

so... we're getting OFF topic here

this wasn't a discussion about sentech or their technology, it was of a normal wireless network stretching out so we might perhaps form a local community via wireless with fast intranet like speeds for gaming and sharing files

I read the topic as "While we're discussing wireless in general" and not "MW users and JAWUG" or something similar (The MAJOR heading is "Sentech", not other systems), which to me was an apropriate spot for the question I asked.

So with due respect noone, I did not see this as off topic, but accept your call.

nonrooker, from now on it may be better to keep my comments and experience to myself, I solved a speed problem yesterday for one of my users (256k) hence my question (as a confirmation before sharing the results).

Robone, as mentioned, his theory is to get your signal stenght up above 40%... thing is, it doesn't matter what your signal strenght is, as mentioned by me having full speeds and use of my 512k up and till the middle of August.

Keithr, if you noticed, within this topic (being under Sentech topic) they never mentioned anything about Sentech up and till you came along with the technology they use for their modems and the apparent power output differences.

To me, that is off topic. But I do get your point

Guys, I am sick and tired of negative bullsh1t - I guess like LoneGunman, I will do my own thing privately.

Robone, I will continue to make this concept work for my customers (because I still believe in it) but will (at this time) no longer make any information regarding my findings public, this attitude of mine may change in the future but for now, I will be a non commenting reader on this forum!

Whoopdie ****ing dooda, your system works, who cares, you're probably on 128k, and like I said in the beginning (in other posts as well) they're probably pumping as much bandwidth into the 128k pool to keep them happy, because I suspect that more than 80% of users are 128k!
