Whisk(e)y Lovers thread(II)

That Longrow is quite disappointing. Even the guys at the distillery don't say positive things about it.

Those prices are rough though, sheesh. I paid £260 for the three bottles, shipped to my door.
That's really good. Advantage of living in the UK. Which shop if you don't mind me asking.

The unfiltered is intresting. thick and tasty, not sure if im sold.

So jelly on the 2022. Would love a bottle but settled for a second 2021
I have to as yet taste a bad Booker's....and such great value for money.

I have been a Smokehead fan since day one so would be amiss to not taste this one. Hoping for the best...

All the way from Edinburgh duty free. It was marked down from 75 to 67 GBP so not sure if it’s not selling or what the reason is, but sure glad to have it.

Opened this today...and damn!! Superb stuff.

Very complex...leather and wood and minerals on the nose. The much talked about water perhaps?

On palate sweet dark fruit...but also some crisp red apples on mid-palate.

Long finish with more leather and cinnamon.

Dark caramelized sugar throughout.

Whats a place for good prices on scotch single blends 18 years and above? I see Makro has some good prices but don’t know where else.

I’ve recently become quite a fan of scotch but over 18 years for some reason. The ones less I find a bit harsh for my palate.

Plenty of whisky that's way better than most 18yos I have tasted. Also I'm not aware of any 'Single Blends' at 18.

What do you like and then can give some recommendations?

Otherwise go buy a bottle of Benriach 12 Triple cask, nothing harsh there.
