Whisk(e)y Lovers thread(II)

Anyone know how I can trade these? Looking to get rid of them. Not sure if this is even the right thread so excuse me in advance.

Thank you
These are easily available so you're only going to be able to move them if you discount them below the store price. Ardbeg would be easier to move. Johnny Blue is pricey so good luck with that.....unless you got the CS version

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I want to get rid of them for well below retail.

Bachelors and wedding weekend done. Lord above that Glenmorangie Signet is truly possibly the best whiskey I have ever tasted.

Johnny Blue - dont think I will ever buy another bottle. Prefer the double black over this, price doesn’t compare
JD Sinatra also very very nice and smooth

congratz to the Ardcore ballot winners, though now that I've tasted it ... no way in hell I'd pay R2500 for something that's completely forgettable and "soft" even compared to the core range of Ardbeg

wtf was this nonsense?!? "like biting a spiky ball" my ass

I guess the marketing department didn't think an honest slogan would sell as well: "like a watered down Ardbeg 10 at more than three times the price!"

it's damn good, but the whisky gods will smite you for spelling a scotch whisky with the Irish "e" in whiskey

amen to that, never bought a bottle but I've had plenty opportunities to taste it and re-taste it ... Johnny double black and even just plain old black represents better value and more character imo

I agree. Totally not worth the R2500 price tag.

Attended a rather pleasant dinner and tasting at Bottega Cafe in Parkhurst on Saturday evening along with some friends. There was a cross over to Dr Bill’s Ardbeg Day live stream, which thankfully was rather brief.

As far as Ardcore is concerned. The jury is still out for me. I have bought into a bottle split so will give it a go on my own when I can spend time with it and focus on it.

Regarding the whole ‘hardcore’ marketing shpeel, we were discussing that they could have termed it hardcore because it’s so opposite to what you would normally expect from Ardbeg, and could it be that it’s aimed at gaining new Ardbeg drinkers due to it’s softer style? Who knows.

A note on Bottega, the food was out of this world, as is usual for them and Sav is a passionate host.

Always wanted to try this, but was either never available or just too expensive.

What a bargain this B1/21 Release is at the moment and so readily available...cannot wait to crack this one. Right after the wet weather flu I'm struggling with, is over.
