A whisky liqueur that is literally the best in the world.

2. Glenfiddich 38 yo.

I went through the range of Glenfiddich with a tasting guide at the CT whisky fest a few years ago.

Can't remember a 38 yo, seem to recall it was 40, but anyway, the 15 yo solera reserve was the best one I thought.

Not exactly high-end by any means but helped polish a bottle of Glen Grant the other evening. Velly smoof, rich taste and no headache the next morning :)

Can never go wrong with some Bushmill's Black Bush.

My favorite so far is Jameson Signature Reserve which sadly is only available from duty free shops.

Last night I discovered this little beauty and I am well impressed.

Got a bottle of The Macallan 10 year fine oak to crack open tonight, and one more tucked away as they're apparently pulling the age statement range.

I love Nikka. I also have Suntory Hibiki. :) I still have several bottles from an European trip a couple of years back.

Just had some Knob Creek Kentucky bourbon.

Unfortunate name perhaps, But methinks I have found a Wild Turkey (seems to have vanished from the stores) replacement at last.

EDIT:

Three ships was voted the best blended whiskey in the world. Tried the bourbon cask version the other night. Surprisingly good and really cheap. Perfect for midweek drinking on the patio around a fire.

Whats the price for a bottle?

It used to be. Also was my goto for the easy drinking sessions. But prices have climbed recently pushing close to R200. At that price, the Jameson is a far better option. for me.

If you like the bourbon cask. Try the 5 year. That is what won the blended whiskey award last year.
