I'll send u pics of Glendronach when I'm around there next. I saw 2 bottles of Glendronach platinum at Whiskybrother shop yesterday

Not complaining, I got my Moscato and contemplating a couple backups of the 9yo. Delicious stuff. :love:

Anyone with experience on this?

EDIT: I want to expand into Irish whiskey (whisky *cough*Waterford*cough*). My only experience is with the cheaper whiskies which I loathe - Black Bush is fine, though. The finish on this intrigues me but I've never tried the spots or Redbreast.

I love Blue and Red Spots - not so much Green or Yellow.

Redbreast is hard to beat, and Waterford is something totally different.

I quite like Green spot and its vanilla notes. Yellow I found too floral for my palate. I killed my bottel but it wasn't my go-to.

Alcohol is for drinking! I'll definitely share my thoughts when it comes in. I've never tried an Adelphi bottling so I thought I'd go a bit out the norm here.

I'm actually trying to source a bottle right now. Bottleshop has a 2015 at R2400 but I'd much rather take the 2020/2021 due to the older age. Whisky Brother have it at R3000 which is a little bit more than I'm willing to pay, I think.

Waterford has my interest. If I can't source the Glendronach 21 then I'll pick up all three (?). Seems to have gotten some love here.

I would suggest buying one first and "test" it on your palette. Start with the Cooladine.

Waterford is not everybody's taste and you may be "stuck" with 3 bottles you do not enjoy or even do not like at all.

I would agree with this assessment. I personally love it but you must understand that it is young, even though it's complexity astounds given its age.

You're talking about the Parliment not the Platinum. The Platinum was a South African special edition. At the time of that release, Glendronach/Benriach was partly owned by South Africans(66%)

Adelphi's stuff is generally rather exceptional (although hard to get).

I bought a Tariquet XO Bas Armagnac earlier this year, I enjoy it, still in the brandy sphere of things but more enjoyable than Cognac for me, flavour is a lot closer to whisky but with a grapey influence. I have the Glen Moray 14 Sauternes Matured and that flavour profile is very close to the Tariquet XO Armagnac I have, you can still pick out the Glen Moray spirit but damn it might fool someone if watered down I reckon.

On the Brandy sphere of things, keep an eye out for Paul John XO Brandy, not sure if we'll get allocation but it's pretty fantastic from what I remember, and the bottle is gorgeous too.
 
Local Checkers sold me their last bottle for R500, pretty sweet deal I think

Eventually left out the Angel's Envy and kicked off with the Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey.

Nice and smooth and sweet and a great starter Whiskey to any evening.

Then the new Balcones Texas Pot Still Bourbon. All the typical big Balcones flavors were there with some nice spices, dried fruit and corn. Great value and very cheap for a Balcones.

Then came the star of the show: Booker's True Barrel Bourbon. Lot's of chocolate, coffee and caramelized sugar.
