Popped in at Rondebosch branch. Plenty of stock. Not a wide range. Lagavulin 16 is 1199 so 20% will bring it in under R1000.
 
Delivered to my office yesterday...cannot wait.

Checkers tried to BS me re. their Single Malt sale this afternoon. Claimed the prices on the shelf, are the price AFTER the 20% was deducted.

I informed them that a sale as advertised, is not based on the customer's "good faith". There is no way I can be expected to believe them, when they say that this bottle of Whisky was 20% more expensive a few days ago. They still refused and I warned them that I will not let this slide.

Got my 20% discount off the shelf price.

Bought a Talisker 10 YO and a Lagavulin 16 YO at ,according to Checkers, at total of 36% discount. A good day.

Burgundy did have some items at the price after 20% off and others not.

Store also tried to tell me it only applied to items in the brochure, which is rubbish.

Retailers ALWAYS try and BS their way out of their own specials. Fuk 'em. Their special clearly states "ALL Single Malts"
In future I'll support www.bottleshop.co.za or Aficionados again...
 
Well at n1 city there was an old private label that wasn't preloaded with the discount. Left my details with them and the manager called me this morning and said he'd apply the discount manually. Popped in after work all sorted.

Seems to depend on store attitude.
