Local port experts try their hand with Whisky. Not to be at all. They also make a damn fine Gin and Award winning brandy.

Ooooh very keen to hear your thoughts on the kelpie

Well I just had a taste. Single shot in big tumbler with 2 teaspoons of chilled water. Amazing nose and flavours. Completely different than the Corryvreckan.

I get a lot of brine and seaweed on the nose. Strong reminder of Laphroaig.

Less peat, more of the toffee and fudge flavours on the palate.

And then that awesome brine finish with more fudge and beautiful peat. Incredibly well balanced and long and smooth finish.

I prefer the Corryvreckan for its mind blowing complexity and rich peat. The Kelpie feels more subtle and nuanced. The Kelpie I bought is only the 46% release. Now I know why I got smashed after 3 Corryvreckan this past weekend at 57%

My Boplaas whiskey is nearly finished. When I opened it, it had a very distinct brandy taste and smell. Takes a bit getting use to but as it stands it mellows nice

Looks awesome. I love a Whisky Lounge...but, jissus, it is expensive to drink in one!! We rather organise tastings and Whiskey evenings amongst ourselves. It is more affordable.

This was the lineup from our last tasting at home. Everyone brings a bottle and shares a pour with everyone else. You take home your bottle with what's left.

Great selection and variety. Love the 2 Glenmorangie...going to a Glenmorangie tasting next month. Really looking forward to that.

The Aficionados tasting? I'm a big fan of the Quinta Ruban. The Nectar D'or is the closest thing that you get to a dessert whisky, so far they do the best Saurtenes Cask.
