Anyone tried ArKay?

(I'll see myself out)
the only review on takealot

It is the most vulgar tasting liquid ever tasted.A total waste of money. There isn't even a hint of whiskey taste. It tastes like watered down, mixed honey flavored cool drink with peppery aftertaste. Not even worth the one star.

Look dont get me wrong, I get non-alc beer/cider, enjoy it myself but non alc whisky? I think ill pass.

Passing through DXB tomorrow morning, what to get?

It really depends on what you like and what you want to spend? JW blenders batch or region blends seem pretty interesting. On the cheaper end there is Connemara Peated Irish Whisky, which is probably interesting. There's Maker's Mark Cask Strength if you like Bourbon? Else if you want to explore Rye, Knob Creek Rye is pretty good. Not sure of any particularly good buys or exclusives.

Bains 15 and JW Island green is also really nice.

Yeah, EK moved up our connection, so we only had 1 hour instead of 2,so I just grabbed these. Otherwise I'd have spent more time on Whizzky doing some research.

These two set me back €157.

Just goes to show that Duty Free is NOT good value anymore...those 2 are Euro116 on MoM...

But you'd still have to add shipping, duties, tax, etc?

When I add these two, the final checkout works out to €162, so much of a muchness.

No of course, but I was doing it from the viewpoint of someone that's traveling internationally. Meaning you can buy this in the UK for the amount I mentioned.

When ordering it from MoM the shipping and duties are murder as always.

Somebody here was looking for that Jim Beam Red Stagg? Well I found my bottle so get hold of me if you want it.

I can confirm: I opened it last night!

I did not really get any of the aroma/tasting notes listed on the bottle, for me, it was more like a very nice green apple aroma. SWAMBO concurred, although she doesn't drink whiskey.
Any peat notes? I watched 3 tasting on YouTube and peat was never even mentioned.
