I see you want us to select and send a request. I think it would be much easier and less time consuming for all involved if you just put the prices on the spreadsheet?

Yup. That would save everyone some time. Unfortunately I've seen a sample of the prices and IMHO they are seriously optimistic.

It's evident some research has been done based on results from overseas auctions which have been translated into ZAR. If you consider the condition of a number of those bottles as well as the effort and cost to ship those bottles overseas to "potentially" achieve some of those numbers on auction then one would realise why the asking prices are out of touch with reality. We have a much smaller market in SA so price accordingly.

@Talia Owen If you want an honest opinion on the value of your collection then get in contact with whiskybrother or wild about whisky. My advice is call up your friends and have a lekker (covid safe) send off. Whatever is left let them take it home.

Yeah - happened to come across some of their OLX listings.
Some nice collectable bottles there, but not many.
And some very unrealistic prices... a bottle of Dimple 12 does not sell for R2100 - even if it's a bottle from the 80s.

I've never had the 8yr but I had a bottle of the other one and did not like it at all, also overpriced in my opinion. Much better stuff available from Three Ships etc.

I paid that at WB because I had other stuff I was buying but you can normally find that at any good Checker's Liquor for R800.

But don't use this as your measure of value.
