Uigeadail ftw
I see it is sold out everywhere now, managed to get one on second attempt, first place is refunding me as they couldn't get from their supplier anymore.Uigeadail ftw![]()
Tried Paul John for the first time at a tasting last year and was pleasantly surprised. It was very very nice.I couldn't resist this liquid Christmas Cake for the actual nightcap. So much baking spices from nose to finish...Five Spice and star anise. Amazing dram:

Then you should try some Amrut....amazing stuff, especially their CS releases.Tried Paul John for the first time at a tasting last year and was pleasantly surprised. It was very very nice.
The whole impact of the subcontinent climate on evaporation of the whiskies is also fascinating (and something I didn't know). I did not expect them to be able to replicate "Scotch" in a quarter of the time.
Good thing they completed their new additional stillhouse this year, nearly doubling their production capacity from 1.4 million liters of alcohol annually to 2.4 million liters.Agreed with comments above. Uigeadail is the GOAT.
Last time I checked Ardbeg was still the smallest producer by volume on Islay so with growing popularity the stocks are likely to get tighter. I guess my only hope is that marketing/growth doesn't eventually impact on the quality of their whisky. If they keep the "core" range proper then hopefully all will be well.
But from the Beist bottlings in the mid 2000's to the Uigeadail and Corryvreckan today they continue to make my tastebuds tingle.
Slainte mhath Ardbeg!
Went out yesterday to find a bottle, first 3 stores sold out, last stop had a bottle but ended up leaving with this instead. Thought I'd rather try something new.I see it is sold out everywhere now, managed to get one on second attempt, first place is refunding me as they couldn't get from their supplier anymore.
Well done to them, definitely keen to try it.

Well done. Can't go wrong with a CS Kilkerran. Although that is Batch 5, the 2nd Oloroso Sherry release. And there is some interesting and controversial feedback on the internet re. the barrels used etc.Went out yesterday to find a bottle, first 3 stores sold out, last stop had a bottle but ended up leaving with this instead. This is probably going to be running a close second to my whisky of the year this year (Excluding single casks, as they aren't as available), although Springbank/Kilkerran are often rarer than single casks nowadays. It's very much that musty, funky dirty sherry that Springbank pulls off so well. I'm still somewhat banking on Andy's Three Ships release this year to come out on top but it's going to be really really hard to top these dirty sherried drams from Campbeltown.Went out yesterday to find a bottle, first 3 stores sold out, last stop had a bottle but ended up leaving with this instead. Sounds promising, love the funk! Have strong Dutch ties and the Springbank's take me to the Netherlands, musty storerooms along the canals and dropjesIt's very much that musty, funky dirty sherry that Springbank pulls off so well.
