Sorry, but I must have missed the part where you insult me!

They still just service a fraction 4.5Mill subs in 1990 now just just 4mill subs
Well if you do not know it Pappi is useless he is there just for the show

So what now you going to do AA shopping at my house

I doubt there's anything worth AA shopping for at your house. So please stop flatterring yourself pal.
Enough of this nonsense. You guys really should stop the racism now. Yet another thread ruined.

Real constructive input there. Perhaps you should take a deep breath and have a look at the context of the posts before brandying your hot rod about?

Yes JontyB, I may have over reacted. I have been reading some of the off topic posts over the past few days and some peoples comments really disturbed me. How many times do we hear black people being called Baboons, zealots, idiots, etc by the same culprits. These idiots think that because they have a degree or education, that there opinion is the rule and anyone who disagrees is a zealot. Well, I have a degree too.

I am also sick of people saying the government have racist policies, yet they cannot back up that statement. Once again in this post, I see people saying the governments racist BEE and AA policies.

I leave you with this thought. Firstly let me say that I am not an ANC supporter, nor am I a DA supporter. I have also not as yet benefited from AA. AA has been put into practice to address an imbalance caused by previous discrimination. While I would also like to see people competing on the basis of skill, this is not possible because the skill lies with a minority. Also People with money have an unfair advantage as their kids can go to special schools, even go for extra tuition, and CAN afford to go to university WITHOUT student loans. Now, we all know that the wealth lie with a small minority. Now how do you expect people to compete if the playing fields are not level.

Please think a bit about WHY AA is applied here in SA before you start the racist cry again.

There is something seriously wrong with both of you.

Out of context as usual by certain members of this forum. Suit your own decapitated brain friend, or rather not. I remarked on his stupid comment to CDI, anyway please yourself, just call if you need help! :D

AA and BEE are racist policies.

rac·ism (rā'sĭz'əm) Pronunciation Key
n.

1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.

That should clear that up.

Please think a bit about WHY AA is applied here in SA before you start the racist cry again.

Because it is easier.

Because it is easier.

Could you please elaborate. I'm not disputing your post, but I'm curious about practical alternatives to AA and BEE. I believe both are imperfect systems and I'd like to see what ideas people come up with to overcome their failings.

Please don't misunderstand what I'm asking here.

I have dried out bread, my take is even that is good enough reason to break in and be killed by your goons. Just read the news boy.

Well maybe the goons at my house on the 23 Dec was after the dried out bread

HaHA "Exemptions" !
What a self employed arrogant racist punk. Look at at the state of this country now and the rest of Africa and see your current and future achievements!

My point exactly, leave if you do not like it. Why I am racist, because I do not like people who insult the government without any facts.

I agree the country is going down but PEOPLE are committing crime, corruption, etc. It is PEOPLE, not only ANC supporters, get that into your thick skull. Because I attack the people, who I feel are ruining our society (by insulting anyone who does not agree with them and keep on mocking our government) I am labeled a racist. I have no problem with White people in general. I have a problem with certain people and unfortunately a high percentage of them ARE white. Just because I dont agree with your 1 dimensional views, does not mean you can insult me and call me a racist.

It would seem to be a growing tendency here.

So? The whole name calling thing is part of human nature. What do you call someone that cuts you off whilst driving, for example?

Ok, so you lambast those that resort to namecalling, but in the very next sentence you do the same? Go figure.

It's an opinion. People have the right to be critical of the government and its policies. That right was never afforded to anyone during apartheid.

It is your right to be affiliated with whichever political party you choose. Honestly I couldn't care who you support, and it's up to you to take the good with the bad on whoever you support.

Well, 90% of all my colleagues are here because of AA. We can't land those lucrative government tenders without them, but honestly, they hardly do any real work. But that's mostly my disgruntled opinion.

People with money have an unfair advantage. Mmmm. Yeah, that would be a "the ground gets wet when it rains" kind of statement. Very few people are rich. Most parents can't afford to send their kids to a tertiary institution. Do me a favour, and go and ask your local bank manager what percentage of personal loans and student loans go to white families. Then scan the papers to see how many bursaries are available to white kids.

AA is being applied incorrectly - it is being applied at the expense of often better equipped individuals in favour of skin colour. BEE, on the other hand, is being milked by an Elite select few.

Thanks for the advice, I'll take it under advisement.

Agenda achieved then by the Pro ANC trolls, as this main topic does not reflect well on their achievements to date and in future
why? did this thread hurt your feelings? For the record, I'm no PRO ANC (I am politically independent), I have participated in this discussion for as long as it has been going on (that rules out the troll part).
I continously achieve most of what I set out to achieve so I don't know who you are refering to (yourself maybe ). Most of the people complaining about AA, do so because they are perpetual under archievers who would've coped better under apartheid. They are the dead wood that is always laid off first during transformation. The real gems remain standing and hardly have a a reason to complain.

The problem is education. Public schools and specifically schools in poor areas are not up to the same standards as the private schools and hence the pupils tend to receive a less thorough education than their wealthy counterparts. This part is obvious. The solutions are much more tricky.

Increased spending alone is not enough. The money needs to be spent in the right places and in the right way and corruption needs to be avoided at all costs. The other problem is resources, specifically teachers. Its hard to find good teachers and it is difficult to keep them away from private schools.

These are difficult problems but they are not insurmountable. With the right people in charge, the right budget and the right support from the rest of the government this can be achieved, and it can be achieved now rather than the distant future.

The next problem is that disadvantaged children who are nearing the end of their school careers and would like to study further. Due to the fact that they have most likely had sub-par education at school they will be at a disadvantage when applying to and when entering university courses. They should be separate institutions created to cater to these people. Think of it as a middle ground between high school and varsity. These institutions would also help fix the other problem - adults who never received a proper education but would like to further themselves.

As you can see this is an expensive and difficult undertaking and would require alot of work from both the government and the people seeking education, but it is something that should be done in any country regardless of the past and in our circumstances it is criminal that it isn't happening.

There is alot more that can be said on this topic, but I think that answers your question?

Don't know about the rest of your post, but the above statement is spot on. I've known several white men who work for large corporates and still have a bright future ahead of them even with AA. The cream always rises to the top and all those who rely solely on AA to get ahead will eventually fall. At the end of the day, we all have to prove our worth.

And you think you are one of them gems, my wife have a bag full to be cooked in the kitchen too, poor guy!
